Conditions were fine and not as hot as for run 2 however turnout was down. Seven teams broke 100 points, led by Macquarie Nomads with 155, followed by State Treasury with 144 and Reserve Bank Midday Milers with 126. These scores had a big impact on the top 3.

Conditions were noticeably hotter for the second run of the series, but there was a better turnout of runners than for Run 1. Six teams broke 100 points, led by Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 141, followed by Macquarie Generals with 125 and Macquarie Nomads with 121. These scores had a big impact on the top 3.

There were two high scoring matches in the knockout, where both teams earned 100 or more points. Macquarie Nomads beat Sydney Tax Pack 121 /119 and Reserve Bank Magic Milers beat ASX Xtraordinaries 141 / 101. For anyone interested, we also had the first tie since series 99 with APRA Standard Setters and JPM Jets both scoring 39 points. Both teams are going into the next round.

Special mention
Not making the fast runners list, but certainly worth a mention is, Anthony ANTONIADIS from ING Lions, who, after a lot of hard work and serious training, improved his time in his first run back since S102R3 in March by 27:25, shaving 13:35 off his handicap. Impressive. Keep up the good work Anthony.

The presentation for series 103 will be held in the Domain on Wednesday 2nd August at 12:30pm. Team Captains with trophies from last series should arrange handing back the trophies for engraving and presentation to the series 103 winners.
SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were good for run 6, and turnout was up on the previous run, being the 4th highest of the series. Seven teams broke the 100 point mark, led by ASX All Xtraordinaries with 184 points. They were followed by Macquarie Nomads with 157 and Legal Eagles with 136. ASX All Xtraordinaries take out the overall win, by a margin of 115 points from the Macquarie Nomads. The total points scored in run 6 was 2,629.

The winner of the Ron Coombs Memorial Trophy for the top point scorer of the opposite sex to the winner of the Garry Gould Memorial Trophy is Jenai GIHWALA of ASX All Xtraordinaries with 124 points.
CC AMATIL MOST IMPROVED TEAM
This competition ranks each team’s improvement in three areas over the last two series – point score, team representation and fast runs. As this is an encouragement award for teams who would not otherwise figure in the prize-giving, teams who win one of the other competitions are excluded from winning it.
The Most Improved Team Trophy for series 103 is won by ANZ Incredibles.

Unfortunately, I missed this run so am unable to comment on the weather but assume it was “excellent for running”. Point scores took a tumble this week with ASX All Xtraordinaries being the only team to break 100 points, winning the day with 145, followed by Macquarie Nomads on 91 and Legal Eagles on 78. There was no change to the order of the top 3. The total points scored in run 5 was 1,773, the lowest of the series, so far.

The low scores mentioned above had a flow on effect to the Knockout with ASX All Xtraordinaries being the only team to score over 100 points. Teams making it through to the final round are Macquarie Nomads and ASX All Xtraordinaries, fighting it out for 1st and 2nd, and BT Dominators and Australian Museum Runosaurs, going all out for 3rd and 4th.
