GENERAL BUSINESS
Welcome to the new team from Evolution Mining, who are joining the Corporate Cup for the first time, and also to Liberty Legends, who are returning after a couple of series’ absence. Sadly we bid farewell, for now at least, to Suncorp who finished bottom of the team representation table with less than 45 runs last series and hence lost their spot to the new team. Hopefully we may see them again in the future.
SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were quite good for run 1, with only the briefest sprinkle of rain around 1pm. Despite good attendance the total points scored was quite low with only 8 teams reaching the 100 point mark. They were led by ASX Xtraordinaries with 161 points, followed by Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 139 points and Westpac Trotters with 112. The total points scored in run 1 was 2,734.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
Domain Dashers have clearly gone into hibernation after their big win last series, being thrashed 107-11 by Macquarie Nomads. The closest match in the repêchage section saw Commonwealth Bank Harriers 1 beat IAG Road Runners 74-72. The two incoming teams met in the knockout section, with Liberty Legends triumphing 27-9 over Evolution Mining.

Reserve Bank Magic Milers top scored with 9 points, followed by Legal Eagles with 7 and Telstra Tornados with 5.

Matt GIBSON of Reserve Bank Magic Milers was fastest man with 21.00, while Cathy LIU of Reserve Bank Magic Milers and newcomer Laura WATKINS of Commonwealth Bank Harriers 1 shared the fastest time among the women with 26.20. There were 43 fast runners in run 1, 33 males (12%) and 10 females (10%).

ASX Xtraordinaries and Sydney Tax Pack had the best turnout with 13 runners, followed by four teams with 12, so the early leader board is very congested. The total turnout was 378 counting runners, 280 males and 98 females.
