Series 98 run 4 newsletter

Series #98 – Run 4 – 23 June 2021 – Run No. 586

GENERAL BUSINESS
Special thanks to Colin Armstrong of Reserve Bank Midday Milers and Vic Anderson of State Audit for stepping up to ensure the timing box made it to the start line for run 4, and also to Vic for chalking up the course amendments, after Chris Stephenson couldn’t come into the city (a “red zone”) as he was flying to Melbourne that afternoon.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were quite mild and good for running, but the Sydney COVID outbreak meant that many runners stayed away and the point scoring was correspondingly much lower.  Fifteen teams scored less than 10 points in total, with Macquarie Nomads the only team to beat 50.  They top scored with 97, followed by Sydney Tax Pack with 47 and Legal Eagles with 43.  Macquarie Nomads are now over 200 points clear of the field.  The total points scored in run 4 was 690.

Team Run 1 Run 2 Run 3 Run 4 Run 5 Run 6 Total
Macquarie Nomads 135 185 154 97   571
BT Dominators 134 83 105 41   363

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
There were some very low scoring matches in the knockout, with Westpac Trotters beating Macquarie Generals 9-3 and ASX All Ordinaries beating GrainCorp Weevils 17-4.  The other matches saw Macquarie Nomads beat Reserve Bank Magic Milers 97-32 and Domain Dashers beat BNP Flyers 35-14.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
The best score in run 4 was 5 fast runs, achieved by all three of the top teams, so there is no change to the relative standings.
