Series #100 – Run 1 – 11 May 2022 – Run No. 595
GENERAL BUSINESS
The Corporate Cup has expanded from 36 to 40 teams for series 100. We welcome back Suncorp, who return after missing series 99, and three new teams: a team from the Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade named DEITies, and two teams from Walker Corporation named The Running Walkers and The Walking Weapons.
There were several notable milestones achieved in run 1. Congratulations to Damien GAY of Reserve Bank Magic Milers, who became just the third person to reach the fantastic milestone of 500 runs. Also Geoff O’SHEA of Westpac Harriers, who is on the comeback trail after some serious injuries, heroically completed the course to notch his 450th run and Ron HEGARTY of State Audit, also coming back from injury, completed his 250th. Finally a special mention for Paul HENNESSY of Mercernaries, who completed his 50th run almost 25 years after completing his 49th!
Also a mention for Alex WHITWORTH of Legal Eagles, who completed his first run as an M80, taking 1:25 off the age group record with his time of 37:00.
