GENERAL BUSINESS
Congratulations to David SHADE of Apra Running Regulators who became the 50th person to complete 300 Corporate Cup runs.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Sunny conditions with a cool breeze saw solid point scoring with a slightly lower turnout than in run 4.  12 teams broke the 100 points mark, again led by Macquarie Nomads, who are on a real roll this series.  They scored 197 points, well ahead of Rabobank Grasshoppers with 158 points and Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 154.  The top two spots remain unchanged, with Rabobank Grasshoppers replacing BT Dominators in 3rd spot.  The total points scored in run 5 was 3,823.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
The shoot-out between the top two sides was a high scoring affair, with Macquarie Nomads beating Macquarie Generals 197-149.  The other semi-final was a tight one with BT Dominators edging past PWC Fasttrack 82-74.  BT Dominators will now meet Macquarie Nomads in the final while Macquarie Generals and PWC Fasttrack will play off for third place.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Legal Eagles had their lowest tally of the series, but still top scored with 7 fast runs, ahead of Reserve Bank Magic Milers and Rabobank Grasshoppers with 5 apiece.  Legal Eagles cannot now be beaten in this competition.

Michael REDDIE of Westpac Harriers was fastest man with 21.25, while Eliza DAVIDSON of Macquarie Nomads was fastest woman with 24.30.  There were 65 fast runners in run 5, 54 males (16%) and 11 females (14%).

Reserve Bank Magic Milers, Macquarie Nomads, CGU Champions and Rabobank Grasshoppers had the best turnouts in run 5 with 13 runners apiece.  BT Dominators slipped with a 10 but still retain a 3 point cushion at the top going into the last round.  The total turnout was 413 counting runners, 334 males and 79 females.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Beautiful sunny conditions saw turnout bounce back to previous levels in run 4, while the cool breeze helped with point scoring.  14 teams broke the 100 points mark, led yet again by Macquarie Nomads with 188 points.  They were again closely followed by stable-mates Macquarie Generals with 180 points and BT Dominators with 155.  These three teams now fill the top spots, with only 2 points separating second and third.  The total points scored in run 4 was 4,077.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
There was an interesting set of matches in round 4: two were fairly close high-scoring affairs, one was a very close low-scoring match and the fourth was a comprehensive win.  The closest match saw PWC Fasttrack squeak past Reserve Bank Midday Milers 89-85, while Macquarie Generals beat Sydney Tax Pack 180-142 and BT Dominators beat Reserve Bank Magic Milers 155-136.  The big win went to Macquarie Nomads, who beat Computershare Athletic Team (CATs) 180-63.  The two Macquarie teams will now meet in one semi-final, while BT Dominators meet PWC Fasttrack in the other.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Legal Eagles again top scored with 8 fast runs, ahead of Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 6 and Commonwealth Bank Harriers 1 with 5.  Legal Eagles are runaway overall leaders.

Series #95 – Run 3 – 18 September 2019 – Run No. 567

GENERAL BUSINESS
Congratulations to John Backhouse of Veterans Affairs who completed his 450th run in run 3.  John is the ninth person to reach this epic milestone and, remarkably, the third to do so in this series and he celebrated the occasion with a big 25 point run.  Special thanks to the two duty teams from Commonwealth Bank for manning the barricades in the wet weather.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
While turnout was down for run 3, the wet weather meant that those who did turn up were rewarded with a clear track and good running conditions, with 57 runners scoring 20 points or more.  10 teams broke the 100 points mark, led again by Macquarie Nomads with 161 points.  They were closely followed by stable-mates Macquarie Generals with 154 points and Sydney Tax Pack with 146.  Macquarie Nomads extend their overall lead to 73 points.  The total points scored in run 3 was 3,085.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
Three of the eight matches in round 3 were decided by less than 10 points.  The closest saw Reserve Bank Midday Milers squeak past State Treasury 116-114, while Computershare Athletic Team (CATs) beat NRMA Insurance 64-59 and BT Dominators beat Rabobank Grasshoppers 112-106.  Reserve Bank Magic Milers matched Computershare for the lowest winning score, beating Planning & Environment Plodders 64-32.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Legal Eagles again top scored with 9 fast runs in run 3, ahead of BT Dominators and Telstra Tornados with 5 apiece.  With their total score already nearly double that of the second placed team, Legal Eagles look sure-fire winners of this competition.

Congratulations to Vic Anderson of State Audit who became the first person to complete 550 runs in run 2.  Vic is another Original, having started in series 1 and been present ever since.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were again quite warm for run 2, but another big turnout saw more excellent point scoring.  19 teams broke the 100 points mark, led by Macquarie Nomads with a massive 200 points.  They were followed by NRMA Insurance with 167 points and QBE Risky Runners with 166.  Macquarie Nomads jump into the overall lead, ahead of BT Dominators and Rabobank Grasshoppers.  The total points scored in run 2 was 4,439.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
A very close and high scoring match saw BT Dominators pip Commonwealth Bank Harriers 1 152-150, while in an even higher scoring match QBE Risky Runners were very unlucky to score 166 points and still lose, going down to Macquarie Nomads by 200-166.  PWC Fasttrack were the only team to progress with less than 100 points, beating ANZ Invincibles 88-74.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Legal Eagles again top scored with 10 fast runs in run 2, ahead of Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 7 and five teams on 4.  Legal Eagles are already well out in front overall.

Series #95 – Run 1 – 21 August 2019 – Run No. 565

GENERAL BUSINESS
Two runners completed their 450th run in run 1.  One was Corporate Cup legend Ian Graves of Ausgrid.  Gravesy is an Original, having started in series 1, boasts a most impressive PB of 20:50 and is still cranking out the runs at 75 years young.  The other was none other than your humble handicapper.

Special thanks to Maria Parsons for filling in so ably as handicapper for runs 5 and 6 last series.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were surprisingly warm for run 1, but a big turnout saw some excellent point scoring.  No less than 22 teams reached the 100 points mark, led by Rabobank Grasshoppers with 187.  They were followed by BT Dominators with 179 points and Legal Eagles with 159.  The total points scored in run 1 was 4,319.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
The closest match in the knockout was in the repechage section of the draw, where both teams go through anyway: JPM Jets pipped Macquarie Generals in a very high-scoring match 139-137.  At the other end of the scale, Westpac Trotters were annihilated by Rabobank Grasshoppers 187-15, probably the greatest margin ever, but the Trotters also get a second chance.  In the knockout section, Suncorp were unlucky losers, scoring over 100 points but going down narrowly 112-108 against Sydney Tax Pack, while CGU Champions also scored over 100 points and still lost.

Legal Eagles have opened up a big early lead with 11 fast runs in run 1, followed by BT Dominators with 6 and Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 5.

The presentation for series 94 will be held in the Domain on Wednesday 7th August at 12:30pm.  Team Captains with trophies from last series should arrange handing back of the trophies for engraving and presentation to the series 94 winners.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Quite a warm day for run 6 and the good turnout for the last run of the series of the series led to some good team scores.  Westpac Trotters scored 204 points and Rabobank Grasshoppers 169, with ABS  moving averages on 121 points in third place.   Westpac Trotters have taken out the title by a margin of 293 points from Rabobank Grasshoppers, with ABS Averages in third place.  The total points scored in run 6 was 2,860.

Both teams in the knockout final put their best foot forward, scoring the two highest scores of the day, with Westpac Trotters beating Rabobank Grasshoppers 204-169.  The third place match saw Macquarie Generals beat BT Dominators 106-92.

The Ron Coombs Memorial Trophy for the top point scorer of the opposite sex to the winner of the Garry Gould Memorial Trophy was won by Nicole TRACY of Suncorp who scored 114 points.

CC AMATIL MOST IMPROVED TEAM
This competition ranks each team’s improvement in three areas over the last two series – point score, team representation and fast runs. As this is an encouragement award for teams who would not otherwise figure in the prize-giving, teams who win one of the other competitions are excluded from winning it.

The Most Improved Team Trophy for series 94 was won by Veterans Affairs.

BT Dominators and Reserve Bank Magic Milers had the best turnout with 14 runners, followed Reserve Bank Midday Milers, ABS Moving Averages, State Treasury, King & Wood Mallesons and Westpac Trotters with 12.  BT Dominators are now in the lead on 67 points, however only 3 points to Reserve Bank Midday Milers.   The total turnout was 407 counting runners, 320 males and 87 females.

GENERAL BUSINESS
Congratulations to Roger HENDERSON of State Audit, who became the 28th person to reach 350 runs, and also to former handicapper Laurie COLEMAN of ABS Moving Averages and Brett FARR of Westpac Trotters, who both completed their 250th runs.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were surprisingly good after all the rain, but again the slightly longer course around the Domain restaurant led to a lower overall point score.  Only 4 teams broke the 100 points mark, led by Westpac Trotters with 171.  They were followed by Rabobank Grasshoppers with 132 and ABS Moving Averages with 116 points.  Westpac Trotters extend their overall lead to 107 points.  The total points scored in run 4 was 2,658.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
BT Dominators prevailed over PWC Fasttrack in a nail-biter, edging them 54-52.  They will now meet Rabobank Grasshoppers, who beat Westpac Harriers 132-109, in the semi-finals.  The other semi-final will be between Macquarie Generals, who beat Suncorp 70-34, and Westpac Trotters, who beat Ausgrid 171-36.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Reserve Bank Magic Milers managed to match Legal Eagles in run 4, with both recording 9 fast runs, but Legal Eagles retain a commanding overall lead.

Conditions were quite pleasant for running, but the course changes around the Domain restaurant lengthened the course slightly and led to a big reduction in points scored.  Only 6 teams broke the 100 points mark, led by a wide margin by Environment Clean Green Runners with 156.  They were followed by Westpac Trotters with 119 and both Commonwealth Bank Harriers 1 and Ausgrid with 118 points.  Westpac Trotters retain their lead, although Environment Clean Green Runners closed the gap significantly.  The total points scored in run 3 was 2,851.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
Three of the eight matches in the knockout were decided by less than 10 points: Westpac Harriers beat Legal Eagles 95-89, PWC Fasttrack beat Reserve Bank Midday Milers 65-58 and BT Dominators beat ABS Moving Averages 90-82.  Suncorp got through with the lowest winning score, beating GrainCorp Weevils 64-31.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
A huge day out for Legal Eagles, who scored an impressive 13 points, and have kicked away in this competition.  Reserve Bank Magic Milers had the next best with 8 and remain in second place overall.

It was sunny with a cool breeze, with most of the course protected from the more blustery winds, and runners revelled in the conditions, racking up a big point score.  No less than 23 teams broke the 100 points mark, led by Westpac Trotters with 173.  They were followed by Reserve Bank Magic Milers on 165 and Environment Clean Green Runners with 164 points.  Westpac Trotters have established an early break on the field but competition is very close for the minor placings.  The total points scored in run 2 was 4,545.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
There were a number of very close matches in the knockout, including some very high scoring ones.  The unluckiest losers were Environment Clean Green Runners, who went down to Westpac Trotters 164-173, while ANZ Invincibles were pipped 149-156 by Rabobank Grasshoppers.  Macquarie Generals were the only team to go through with a score of less than 100 points, beating BT Warriors 82-65.

Legal Eagles again top scored with 11, but were closely followed by Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 10, who manage to stay in contact in the overall competition.
