Series #101 – Run 1 – 17 August 2022 – Run No. 601

GENERAL BUSINESS
The Corporate Cup has expanded further for series 101, from 40 to 43 teams.  We welcome back Allianz Experience, who return after missing four series, and two new teams: a team from Liberty Specialty Markets named Liberty Legends and a team from ING Bank named ING Lions.

Congratulations to Anthony DONNELLY of BT Dominators, who reached 350 runs and remarkably is the 33rd person to reach this big milestone, and also to Jan PHILLIPS of Sydney Tax Pack, who became just the 4th female to notch 250 runs.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Sunny but cool conditions were great for running, and we had our best turnout of the year so far.  Three teams managed to reach the 100 point mark, led by Macquarie Nomads with 159 points, who were followed by Reserve Bank Magic Milers on 136 and BT Dominators on 101.  The total points scored in run 1 was 1,868.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
There were a number of very close matches in the knockout competition.  In the repechage section, PWC Fasttrack pipped BNP Flyers 51-50 and Macquarie Generals edged Telstra Tornados 89-85, with both losing teams getting another chance in round 2.

Unluckiest losers in the knockout section were ANZ Incredibles, who also lost by a single point, 23-22 against Westpac Harriers, with four other matches in this section also being decided by less than 10 points.  The three incoming teams met in a three-way match, courtesy of the odd number of teams in the competition, with Allianz Experience triumphing and moving through to round 2.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Reserve Bank Magic Milers have again hit the ground running with 9 fast runs in run 1.  Legal Eagles were next with 6, followed by Telstra Tornados with 4.
