SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were good for the first run of the series, with a respectable turnout of runners. Eight teams broke the 100 point mark, led by Sydney Tax Pack with 152 points, followed by Macquarie Nomads and Reserve Bank Magic Milers, both with 147. The total points scored in run 6 was 1728.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
There were three high scoring matches in the knockout, where both teams earned 100 or more points. Sydney Tax Pack beat Reserve Bank Magic Milers, 152 / 147, Macquarie Nomads beat ASX Xtraordinaries, 147 / 112 and Legal Eagles beat ANZ Incredibles, 129 /100.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Reserve Bank Magic Milers top scored with 8 points, just ahead of Legal Eagles with 7 and Australian Museum Runosaurs and Telstra Tornados, both with 4.

Brendan KRONE of Telstra Tornados was the fastest man with the time of 22.00, and Cathy LIU of Reserve Bank Magic Milers was fastest woman with 26.00.  There were 43 fast runners, 36 males (14%) and 7 females (10%).

 

Special mention

Not making the fast runners list, but certainly worth a mention is, Anthony ANTONIADIS from ING Lions, who, after a lot of hard work and serious training, improved his time in his first run back since S102R3 in March by 27:25, shaving 13:35 off his handicap. Impressive. Keep up the good work Anthony.

Congratulations to Reserve Bank Magic Milers, who had the best turnout in run 1 with a perfect 15. They were followed by Sydney Tax Pack with 13 and ASX Xtraordinaries and Legal Eagles both with 12. The total turnout was 332 counting runners, 250 males and 72 females.

GENERAL BUSINESS

The presentation for series 103 will be held in the Domain on Wednesday 2nd August at 12:30pm.  Team Captains with trophies from last series should arrange handing back the trophies for engraving and presentation to the series 103 winners.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were good for run 6, and turnout was up on the previous run, being the 4th highest of the series. Seven teams broke the 100 point mark, led by ASX All Xtraordinaries with 184 points.  They were followed by Macquarie Nomads with 157 and Legal Eagles with 136.  ASX All Xtraordinaries take out the overall win, by a margin of 115 points from the Macquarie Nomads.  The total points scored in run 6 was 2,629.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
ASX All Xtraordinaries took out the knockout trophy, beating Macquarie Nomads 184-157, while Australian Museum Runosaurs beat BT Dominators 100-69 in the playoff for third place.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Reserve Bank Magic Milers top scored with 9 points, just ahead of Legal Eagles with 8 and Telstra Tornados with 4.  Reserve Bank Magic Milers retain the overall title by a wide margin.

The winner of the Ron Coombs Memorial Trophy for the top point scorer of the opposite sex to the winner of the Garry Gould Memorial Trophy is Jenai GIHWALA of ASX All Xtraordinaries with 124 points.

CC AMATIL MOST IMPROVED TEAM
This competition ranks each team’s improvement in three areas over the last two series – point score, team representation and fast runs. As this is an encouragement award for teams who would not otherwise figure in the prize-giving, teams who win one of the other competitions are excluded from winning it.

The Most Improved Team Trophy for series 103 is won by ANZ Incredibles.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Unfortunately, I missed this run so am unable to comment on the weather but assume it was “excellent for running”. Point scores took a tumble this week with ASX All Xtraordinaries being the only team to break 100 points, winning the day with 145, followed by Macquarie Nomads on 91 and Legal Eagles on 78. There was no change to the order of the top 3. The total points scored in run 5 was 1,773, the lowest of the series, so far.

The low scores mentioned above had a flow on effect to the Knockout with ASX All Xtraordinaries being the only team to score over 100 points. Teams making it through to the final round are Macquarie Nomads and ASX All Xtraordinaries, fighting it out for 1st and 2nd, and BT Dominators and Australian Museum Runosaurs, going all out for 3rd and 4th.

Our streak of good weather continued where, once again, conditions were excellent for running. Point scores were up for the majority of teams with 11 teams breaking 100 points. ASX All Xtraordinaries won the day with a score of 186, followed by Macquarie Nomads tieing with BT Dominators on 172.  The higher scores, saw Sydney Tax Pack make it into the top 3. The total points scored in run 4 was 3,329.

We were lucky with the weather, once again, with conditions being excellent for running. However, point scores were slightly down on the previous run with only 5 teams breaking 100 points. Macquarie Nomads won the day with a score of 161, extremely closely followed by ASX All Xtraordinaries with 160 and ANZ Incredibles coming third with 127.  The scores, however, do not change the positioning of the current leaders.  The total points scored in run 3 was 2,971.

Series #103 – Run 2 – 24 May 2023 – Run No. 614

GENERAL BUSINESS
Congratulations to all round Corporate Cup legend Laurie Coleman of ABS Moving Averages, who completed his 300th run in run 2.  Laurie is an original, having joined the Corporate Cup in series 1, and was also previously the Handicapper.  He missed series 44 to 86 before returning, so reaching 300 is a great milestone.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were excellent for running, sunny but cool, and there was a big turnout and some big point scores.  No less than 14 teams broke the 100 point mark, again led by ASX All Xtraordinaries with a massive score of 181.  They were closely followed by Macquarie Nomads with 173, with Reserve Bank Magic Milers third best with 158.  These three teams now fill the top three places.  The total points scored in run 2 was 3,371.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
There were several very high scoring matches in the knockout, with three unlucky teams scoring well over 100 but still being eliminated.  Reserve Bank Magic Milers beat Macquarie Generals 158-122, Domain Dashers beat Transport Trainers 141-137 and Sydney Tax Pack beat BNP Flyers 156-146.

At the other end of the scale, two very lop-sided matches saw ASX All Xtraordinaries beat Mercernaries 181-2 and ANZ Incredibles beat State Audit 115-1.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Run 1’s tie has obviously stung Reserve Bank Magic Milers into action, as they scored a remarkable 13 points and take a big overall lead.  Legal Eagles were next best with 7, followed by Australian Museum Runosaurs with 4.

We have two new teams coming into the Corporate Cup for series 103 – welcome to Deloitte Merger Milers and IHACPA Activity Based Runners – while The Walker Weapons are merging into The Running Walkers team, so we move from 42 teams to 43.

Conditions were good for running with a cool breeze blowing and some good points totals were achieved.  Six teams broke the 100 point mark, led by ASX All Xtraordinaries with 122.  They were followed by Macquarie Nomads with 109, with Reserve Bank Magic Milers and The Running Walkers close behind on 107.  The total points scored in run 1 was 2,502.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
The first round of the knockout saw one of the lowest scoring matches in history, with State Audit beating Team UBS 3-1, while Deloitte Merger Milers won a three way contest at the bottom of the draw, beating NRMA Insurance and fellow newcomers IHACPA Activity Based Runners 48-14-8.  Another close match in the knockout section saw Deutsche RBC Runners beat Liberty Legends 57-51.

Early excitement in the fast teams, with Legal Eagles and Reserve Bank Magic Milers sharing top score with 7 apiece, while Australian Museum Runosaurs were next best with 3.

GENERAL BUSINESS

The presentation for series 102 will be held in the Domain on Wednesday 26th April at 12:30pm.  Team Captains with trophies from last series should arrange handing back of the trophies for engraving and presentation to the series 102 winners.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Conditions were quite good for run 6 and, although the turnout was the lowest of the series, those who ran took advantage to record the second highest total points of the series.  Three teams broke the 100 point mark, led by Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 129 points.  They were followed by BT Dominators with 115 and Macquarie Generals with 110.  BT Dominators take out the overall win, by a margin of 37 points from the Magic Milers.  The total points scored in run 6 was 2,034.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
BT Dominators took out the knockout trophy, beating JPM Jets 115-49, while ABS Moving Averages beat Liberty Legends 96-62 in the playoff for third place.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Reserve Bank Magic Milers top scored with 7 points, ahead of Legal Eagles with 5 and Telstra Tornados with 4.  Reserve Bank Magic Milers retain the overall title by a wide margin.

Reserve Bank Midday Milers had the best turnout in run 6 with 12, followed by BT Dominators with 11 and three teams with 10.  BT Dominators have won the title by a huge margin with 80 points of a possible 90.  The total turnout in run 6 was 243 counting runners, 190 males and 53 females.

The winner of the Ron Coombs Memorial Trophy for the top point scorer of the opposite sex to the winner of the Garry Gould Memorial Trophy is Ellen WATERMAN of Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 89 points.

CC AMATIL MOST IMPROVED TEAM
This competition ranks each team’s improvement in three areas over the last two series – point score, team representation and fast runs. As this is an encouragement award for teams who would not otherwise figure in the prize-giving, teams who win one of the other competitions are excluded from winning it.

The Most Improved Team Trophy for series 102 is won by JPM Jets.

SYDNEY CORPORATE CUP POINTSCORE TROPHY
Humid conditions for run 5 saw a drop from the previous run’s high scoring, but still the second best total of the series.  Three teams broke the 100 points mark, again led by BT Dominators who scored 138.  They were followed by Transport Trainers with 114 and ABS Moving Averages with 109.  BT Dominators have surged to the top and now have quite a lead going into the final run, while ABS Moving Averages have climbed into 3rd place overall.  The total points scored in run 5 was 1,792.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
Two of the top teams met in a high scoring semi-final, with BT Dominators beating ABS Moving Averages 138-109, while the other match saw JPM Jets end Liberty Legends’ run 82-20.  BT Dominators will meet JPM Jets in the final, while ABS Moving Averages and Liberty Legends’ will play off for 3rd place.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Legal Eagles top scored in run 5 with 7 fast runs, followed by Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 6 and Telstra Tornados with 5.  The Magic Milers look to have this one in the bag.

GENERAL BUSINESS
Congratulations to Craig PAGER of Commonwealth Bank Harriers 1 who completed his 350th run, the 36th person to reach this milestone, and also to Caroline YARNELL of Legal Eagles, who completed her 200th run.  Caroline is the 161st runner to reach 200 runs, but just the 10th female to do so.

Milder conditions for run 4 saw an explosion of point scoring, with the biggest total of the series by quite a margin.  Six teams broke the 100 points mark, led by BT Dominators on 158 and Reserve Bank Magic Milers with 155.  Third best on the day were Macquarie Generals with 129 and these three teams now fill the top three places overall.  The total points scored in run 4 was 2,401.

RABOBANK KNOCKOUT TROPHY
The top half of the draw saw two high scoring matches, with all four teams beating 100 points.  BT Dominators beat State Treasury 158-102 and ABS Moving Averages beat Macquarie Nomads 123-108.  In the bottom half Liberty Legends won a low scoring match 30-21 against Team UBS, while JPM Jets accounted for The Running Walkers 99-39.

FASTEST TEAM COMPETITION
Reserve Bank Magic Milers again top scored in this competition with an outstanding 10 fast runs, followed by Legal Eagles with 7 and Telstra Tornados with 5.  The Magic Milers are running away with this competition.
